Steffanie Blackmon

Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, Steffanie was a creative, outgoing spirit from the very beginning.  As a young child, she enjoyed reading, writing and drawing, even aspiring to be a children's book author.  But at the age of 11, she quickly centered her curiosity on basketball culminating in both personal and team accolades at nearly every level. She would go on to star on Big XII Champion (tournament and regular season) Baylor University's inaugural women's national championship team setting the stage for what would become a powerhouse program.  No small feat but proving herself the ever masterful multitasker, Steffanie would graduate with a 3.4 GPA earning both All American and Academic All-American status her last two years along with numerous All Big XII honors.  The next leg of her basketball journey saw her being drafted into the WNBA by the Seattle Storm.  She would also play several seasons overseas (South Korea, Italy, Israel).  Steffanie was inducted into the Texas Black Sports Hall of Fame in 2017 and Baylor University's Hall of Fame in 2018.

 

After basketball, Steffanie dedicated herself to the field of education helping countless youth grow their confidence along with their Math skills.  She even coached teachers.

 

Her next pivot led her back to her first love - the arts.
